Priorities

You can count on Jace to work tirelessly to make progress on these priorities:

Affordable Housing

Allow more housing options for all income levels and household types, promote neighborhood walkability with mixed-use development, empower non-profit developers to build more affordable housing, scale investments in tiny homes and rapid rehousing, diversify shelter options, and protect cost-burdened renters, seniors, and working families.

Good Jobs

Lift up low-wage workers, address unfair scheduling in fast-food and big box stores, build local capacity to address wage theft, support union organizing efforts, and create more family wage jobs through Community Workforce Agreements, Project Labor Agreements, and Community Benefit Agreements.

Childcare and Early Learning

Bring down costs to families, progress toward professional pay for early childhood educators, and achieve near universal access for all families, including those with infants, non-traditional work schedules, and children with disabilities.

Climate and Environment

Spur local jobs and clean energy: invest in community solar on municipal property and rooftops, expand EV charging and WTA electrification, incentivize weatherization and electrification, expand tree cover to reduce heat effects of climate change, and protect Lake Whatcom through increased run-off mitigation, fertilizer ban enforcement, and conservation.

Public Health and Safety

Reduce call response time, increase traffic safety, expand Alternative Response Teams, invest in behavioral health services and a full spectrum of substance use treatment options, establish a safe parking site, decrease recidivism through evidence-based interventions like reentry housing support, reducing fines and fees, and free phone calls in jail to loved ones.
